The news coming out of Israel is incomprehensible and horrifically all too real. Our heart breaks for those killed and injured, and for all Israelis in harm’s way and reeling from these unprecedented, unconscionable, traumatic attacks. We are heartened to see the resilience of Israelis, who in the face of tragedy, have come together as one, mobilizing reserve forces with great speed and individual and civil society efforts to take care of the humanitarian needs left in the wake of this terror.
We are holding close in our hearts and praying for the safety of our Israel team, our grantees, and the family members and loved ones that our U.S. staff and trustees have in Israel, whether serving in the armed forces or on the home front.
We are reaching out to our Israeli colleagues and grantees to determine their immediate needs as well as preparing a robust philanthropic response to this emergency for the weeks and months to come.
We pray for a quick end to this tragic violence. As we always have and forever will, we stand with the people of Israel.
